Reports are the primary way penetration testing results are shared with stakeholders, auditors, and customers.
RedVeil provides structured, exportable reports designed to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Reports are generated only after a test has completed and represent a point-in-time assessment of the target.
This article explains how to generate a report, what formats are available, and what information is included.
When Reports Become Available
Reports can be generated once a test reaches the Completed state.
If a test is still running, cancelled, or failed, final reports will not be available. This ensures that reports reflect a complete and intentional assessment rather than partial results.
Once testing is complete, report generation becomes available directly within the project.
How to Generate a Report
Reports are generated from within the project interface.
To generate a report:
Navigate to the project associated with the completed test
Open the Reports section from the left-hand navigation
Select the report type you wish to generate
Once generated, the report can be downloaded for offline use or sharing.
Public Penetration Testing Certificate
In addition to downloadable reports, RedVeil allows you to generate a public penetration testing certificate for completed projects.
Once a test has reached the Completed state and reports are available, you can generate a public certificate directly from the project. This certificate provides a shareable link that confirms a full penetration test was conducted against the specified environment.
The name of the project is used to represent the environment tested, making it clear what was assessed without exposing sensitive technical details.
